scorby

Closed test · Android

Tell us what to fix, before everyone else sees it.

Scorby is built and it is not out yet. Before it goes anywhere near the store we want it in the hands of people who actually play — for two weeks, in real matches, telling us what breaks and what we got wrong. You would be scoring with it before anyone else, and what you send back changes the version everybody else gets.

Google runs this as a closed test: twelve people, opted in for fourteen straight days, on Android. That is the shape of it — but the reason we are asking is the feedback.

What you are signing up to

This is a test, not a launch. There is no public release date yet.

01

What we need you to do

Five things, and the fourth is the one that actually helps most.

  1. Opt in with the link we send you, and stay opted in for at least fourteen continuous days. Google's rule is explicit: someone who opts in, tests for fewer than fourteen days and opts out does not count.
  2. Install from Google Play using the same Google account you give us below.
  3. Use it properly — score real matches, not one tap in the car park.
  4. Sign in, and play at least one shared match with another tester. This is the most useful thing on the list. Two phones following one live score is the part that has never run outside a test rig, and we will pair you up with somebody.
  5. Do not uninstall or leave the test until we tell you the period is done.

Near the middle and at the end we will point you at the feedback form — the same one both times, five minutes each. Google asks us to summarise what testers said and what we changed because of it, so those two submissions are genuinely the point rather than a courtesy, and the end-of-test one is what unlocks the 90 days.

02

What you get

90 days of Scorby All Sports — tennis, padel and badminton — free. Sent as a Google Play promo code once your testing is confirmed: fourteen continuous days opted in, and the feedback form returned.

After 90 days it becomes a paid subscription at €6.99 a month unless you cancel in the Play Store. That is how a Play promo code works and we are not going to bury it — you will get a reminder before it happens, and cancelling takes about twenty seconds.

To be plain about one thing: this is for testing and for telling us what you think — it is not for a review. We will never ask you to rate or review the app in exchange for anything, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.

Fields marked * are needed. Everything else helps us pair people up and work out what to test first.

This has to be the Google account signed in on your Android phone — not simply an address you use. Check it in Settings → Google, or tap the circle at the top right of the Play Store. If this is wrong the invitation silently will not work, and neither of us will be able to tell why.

Your phone *

An iPhone cannot join an Android closed test.

Worth asking loudly: the watch app has never been tested on a real wrist. If you have one, you are the most useful tester on this list.

Which do you play?

Used for one reminder near the end of the test, so the 90 days are not held up. Nothing else.

Agreement *

Covered by section 12 of the Privacy Policy, which says what is kept, for how long, and how to be removed. You can withdraw at any time by emailing info@scorby.app.

04

Two things people ask

What if I want out early?

Tell us rather than simply opting out — leaving without warning can reset the fourteen-day clock for everyone else. If you tell us, we can usually find a replacement and nobody loses anything.

Will it cost me anything during the test?

No. The app is free during the closed test, and the 90 days afterwards are free too. The only charge that can ever happen is the one described in section 2 — €6.99 a month from day 91, and only if you do not cancel.
